Soup for my family
My soup work started off with 1:12 scale ramen, but quickly grew to 1:1 sculptures. Working at life scale was really different and the effects are wonderful. I was really tickled for a while with the idea of Pocket Pasta, Altoid tins with fake noodles in them. This naturally became Pocket Soup, because you never know when you might need soup on the go.
Accented with runny-yolk eggs and sprinkled with scallions and handmade sesame seeds, these 1:1 handmade udon sculptures created with colored polymer clay adds interest to a spare shelf. They also make a good bookstand!
