I'm here for all the grief that I can stand - Critterland lyric
There are as lot of lines in Willi Carlisle's song "Critterland" that really hit me, but it's the refrain "I'm here for all the love that I can stand," which becomes "I'm here for all the grief that I can stand" that makes me ugly sob. In more than a decade with my partner, there has been so much love, but also immense pain (physical and psychological) to navigate. With community care, we wade through really dark waters.
The 6+ hours of carving and 10+ hours of printing gave me plenty of time to think about my partner and so many others in my chosen family and communities, and the village it took to get me to the edge of 40.
Printed in Cranfield Safewash and Traditional relief ink with a brilliant metallic finish, this print is available in two styles:
-approx 8x10 without a border or chatter, and
-9x12 with border and chatter.
Chatter is the marks in the background that give an expressive and rustic feeling.
